Faux fur is mod acrylic fabric made from modified acrylic fibers that emulates real fur.
It depends on the person. Generally imatation fur is almost as warm as real fur. My customers often are surprised that something as light , and sometimes, thin can be so warm.

How long has Polar Magic been making coats?
We started making coats in 1994. However I have spent most of my adult life selling outerwear for other manufacturers. I have close to 40 years experience in the business.
This is a new high tech fabric that sandwiches a membrane between two layers of fabric. This membrane is pourous and allows perspiration to escape while preventing the larger droplets of water from penitrating the outer layer. The outer nylon layer also prevents the wind from entering and the micro fleece lining keeps the heat inside. What a coat!
Yes. Faux fur is a fabric. However it is very sensitive to heat. WASH GENTLY IN COOL WATER AND HANG TO DRY.
Wind bloc, polar fleece, bonded fleece are all washable, but I would wash gently and hang to dry.
Tapestry fabrics are DRY CLEAN ONLY.

Choosing the best faux fur for you.
Colour is important. Usually our ladies buy the first coat they try on, often its quite clear in the way your skin and hair harmonize with the fur tones. The White Mink, looks stunning with white hair or a contrast of dark skin and dark hair.
Pile density and length of the pile could influance your choice. Most coats that have vertical lines are the most flattering for the plus size lady. The soft light weight fabrics also drape well and are flattering to your figure.
Your natural instinct will guide your choice.
Polar Magic is Your Top Choice when it comes to Winter Coats and Jackets made from the Warmest Materials Available
